|   | Library Case law ? Help | Access to the databases The Netherlands Institute of Human Rights (SIM) has several databases in which its collection of documentation is made accessible. Through this site, databases are made available to the public. Searching and browsing You can browse through a database by using the various categories which you can find at the left-hand side of the screen (e.g. By Author, By State, By Date), but you can also search the databases. The databases can be searched by using the simple full text search method, or the more sophisticated field search. Help files are available. (Note: all keywords are in English.) There are two sections of databases: 1. Library: this section contains the databases 'BOOKS', 'SERIALS', 'RATIF' and 'INSTRUMENTS'. In 'Books' you can find bibliographic details of the collection (books, articles and reports) of SIM's documentation centre, in February 2013 this collection is relocated to UB Binnenstad, Drift 27 (collection 'International Human Rights'; some books are part of other UBU collections). In 'Serials' you can find bibliographic descriptions of human rights journals. 'Ratif' provides information on the status of ratification of international and regional human rights instruments. 'Instruments' contains the texts of human rights instruments. images To search this section click here 2. Case law: provides access to the databases containing the case law of international supervisory organs. These contain jurisprudence of the Human Rights Committee ('CCPR'), the Committee Against Torture ('CAT'), the Committee on the Elimination of Racial Discrimination ('CERD') and the Committee on the Elimination of Discrimination against Women ('CEDAW'). Furthermore, there is a database containing information on judgements of the European Court of Human Rights ('ECHR'). The concluding observations of the United Nations treaty bodies in the context of the country reports have been made accessible ('UNCOM'). Finally the general comments and general recommendations of the UN treaty bodies are available ('General Comments'). The case law of the International Criminal Tribunal for the former Yugoslavia (ICTY) was recently included and is integrated in the case law database of the International Criminal Tribunal for Rwanda (ICTR) ('Tribunals').
